2025 in Chords (small thoughts)
by Lily Williamson
January: How Monday morning feels yet it’s an entire month of endlessness.
February: Failure to live up to expectation, whether that’s romance or making your bed in the morning.
March: A flicker of something, more like hearing a rustle outside of the door and anticipating the knock.
April: Like releasing a breath you’ve been holding in for a really long time.
May: Laughter and tall grass tickling your thigh. Leaving imprints after a day spent lazing in a freshly cut field.
June: Late night drive and the sound of the car when it slows to a crawl, signalling for home time.
July: Showering sand from between your toes, the smell of suncream, the joy of it being light outside at 10pm.
August: Wind through your hair, hand in front of your face to shade from the sun. Pure contempt.
September: Like a clock winding down, like you have a task niggling away at your mind whilst trying to fall unconscious.
October: Crunchy leaves. A time for reinvention.
November: When you have to shrivel your nose because the wind is biting your face.
December: Where you’re either warm from kissing the love of your life at midnight or dancing like nobody’s watching.
